Formal Chief of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) K. Sivan said that by December 2020, we will have our first unmanned mission of human spaceplane. The second unmanned human space plane of ISRO, we target for July 2021.
We are ahead of the deadline, the Gaganyan program will be India’s first manned mission to space. the space agency is planning to send two unmanned mission to space in December 2020 and July 2021 (as for exercise), and the manned mission in December 2021, ahead of the deadline that was initially announced.
The Union Cabinet has approved the mission on December 28. It is expected to cost Rs 10,000 crore in this mission and will include the cost of Technology, development, flight hardware, and essential infrastructure elements. the program will carry a three-member crew into space for a minimum of seven days. as part of the mission, there will be 3 launches two unmanned missions followed by a manned mission. the launches of manned mission craft are likely to take place on December 21 or after the astronauts complete their training by the first quarter of 2021.
The aircraft is used as the Gaganyaan mission is launched in three-stage with a heavy-lift launch vehicle by GSLV MK-3, which will be used to launch the spacecraft and National Agencies will collaborate with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to bring the Mission to fruition.

If the Gaganyaan mission is successful then India will become the fourth nation to launch a manned mission to space after Russia, the USA, and China.

The astronaut who is selected for the Gaganyaan mission is not announced officially but the Indian Space Research Organisation human space flight center in Bangalore has signed a contract with Gavkosmos in July 2019 for the training of the four pilots. according to the statement issued by Roscosmos in August 2020, the astronaut- elects are attending courses of the general space training program and of the system of the Soyuz MS screwed spacecraft.
Four Indian Air Force fighter pilots are undergoing training at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre in Russia. The training program, which began in February 2020, was put on hold following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. It was again resumed in May.
